Jimmy Lesyna

Jimmy’s energy practice focuses primarily on complex oil and gas title issues and M&A due diligence. He has advised a wide range of clients — from individual lessors to major producers — regarding matters involving lease negotiation, onshore drilling issues, regulatory agency compliance, and asset acquisition and divestiture. His transaction experience includes the drafting of oil and gas leases, joint operating agreements, oil and gas title opinions, regulatory filings, purchase and sale agreements, and various curative instruments.

Jimmy acquired his initial experience in the energy industry as an independent field landman performing title research throughout Texas, from the Permian Basin to the Haynesville Shale and down into the Eagle Ford. He later diversified his skills as both a project lead and manager of a land services company in Fort Worth. Prior to joining the Firm, he held an in-house position for a closely held independent domestic energy producer where he was responsible for a wide range of duties, from resolving landowner disputes and evaluating prospective acquisitions to managing corporate governance issues.

Originally from Missouri City, Texas, Jimmy moved to Dallas in 2007 where he eventually met Beverly, herself a native Dallasite. They have been married since 2013 and have one daughter, Peyton.
