Jorge Gutierrez

Jorge joined Freeman Mills in 2021.  He represents private and public energy companies throughout the United States on all matters affecting shareholder value.  He is certified in Oil, Gas and Mineral Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.

Jorge’s experience includes negotiating equity and asset purchase and sale agreements, LLC agreements, farmout agreements, and drilling joint venture agreements.  In addition, he regularly advises clients in the negotiation and interpretation of contracts utilized in daily operations.  Jorge also works with clients in bankruptcy or other complex financial situations concerning matters such as the negotiation and renegotiation of commercial contracts, analyzing industry contracts to identify and resolve weaknesses, and assisting with asset sales.

Represented a publicly traded E&P company in its acquisition of properties in the Utica Shale valued at $92.2 million

Represented a publicly traded E&P company in the acquisition of properties in Utah valued at $160 million

Represented a privately held crude oil transportation company in connection with a $155 million transaction to acquire an interest in Saddlehorn Pipeline Company, LLC

Represented a privately held E&P company in the acquisition of properties in North Dakota valued at $190 million

Represented a crude oil refining company in negotiating terms for $350 million, 60-well drilling joint venture with an E&P operating company for properties in Utah

Represented a privately held E&P company in the sale of assets located in California valued at $175 million
